Film Terms Glossary

Click here to use the glossary tool. You can use the glossary online, but you can also download it to your computer and use it there. You can also view examples of many of the terms in our video glossary.

Either way, the best way to use the glossary is to read the definitions and the physically write out each term at least 10 times, saying it out loud each time. When you take the film term exams, you will be expected to write the exact term, spelled correctly, that goes with its definition.

In addition, you should use the flash card sets that I have created as part of the glossary tool. It will give you the definition and then let you check your answer. If you get one wrong, you can click on it, mark it for review, and then make yourself write it 10 more times. But you can only use this function if you first download the glossary to your computer. Once it is on your hard drive, you will still use a browser to open it, but any changes you make will be saved to the version you downloaded.
